Sylvan Learning Center is looking for an engaging and dedicated Elementary or Reading teacher to work with our reading and ELA students in grades K-6. 

Sylvan creates individualized learning plans for students of all abilities based on their unique needs. Working with groups of only 2-3 students, you will be responsible for leading instruction and motivating students to be successful. There are no lesson plans to create, no homework to grade and no parent-conferencing. At Sylvan we want you to focus on what you do best- Teaching.

What you should know:

• You will use pre-planned lessons. They are straightforward, easy to manage, and fun to teach.
• Teach students in a small group setting. There will be no more than 3 students per teacher.
• Most teachers choose to work 2-3 days/week
• We are open for instruction on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4-7pm and on Saturday mornings from 9am-1pm. We are currently looking primarily for weekday instructors with Thursday availability.
• This is an in person position on site in Mineola

Job Requirements:

• Teaching certification is required, applications will be considered if you are in your final student teaching placement as well
• You must enjoy teaching, working, and inspiring students. 
• Being punctual is extremely important. You must be local and have reliable transportation.
